Reproducible with Wine 1.4.1 and 1.5.9. With the first start, everything is okay. After exiting and restarting, the keyboard is dead. Did you try winecfg for example? Do you have anything else installed in the same game prefix? "wineserver -k" solves the problem for now. When I exit the game, I do not see any obviously wine-related tasks in the process list remaining.
