[Bug 8801] New: winhttp.dll and winsock:WSAStringToAddressA
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8801 Summary: winhttp.dll and winsock:WSAStringToAddressA Product: Wine Version: 0.9.39. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: wine-net AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: sites(a)cheimes.de Myst Online requires a copy of winhttp.dll for its status message system. I used a copy from my Windows XP SP2 (German). Since Myst Online version Live 6 the status message fails to update with the message fixme:winsock:WSAStringToAddressA (support.mystonline.com, 17, (nil), 0x7d8628dc, 0x7d8628d8) - AddressFamiliy not implemented! 0x17 = IPv6 I've talked to Andrey Turkin about the issues and he replied with: --- Launcher do very strange things there. WSAStringToAddress cannot resolve DNS names to IP address; launcher tries to do this, notice failure, tries again with IPv6 (which is not supported, hence fixme; but the function claims successful completion for some reason); then launcher tries the same thing again with ANSI version of this function, and then goes on with "[support.mystonline.com]" as server name, which won't work. --- -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
