Split, showing OSD

I've got a video-surveilance software, which has subareas (so-called "splits")
to display video from one or multiple cameras.

This splits should display an OSD if you enter them with the mouse. After first
start, everything is fine - but if you click on an OSD-button, OSD disappears
and doesn't come back if you enter your mouse again.

But *strange*: If you leave the app and activate some different app / focus e.
g. your file explorer - and you come back (still focused different app), OSD
appears on hovering the mouse into the split.

The app is the same like here (there's a description howto get and open a
standard MP4-file):

Any ideas to debug or collect informations?
