http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22511 Summary: Baldur's Gate 2: only takes up part of top left corner of screen, not full screen Product: Wine Version: 1.1.43 Platform: x86-64 URL: http://www.brothersoft.com/games/baldur-s-gate-ii-shad ows-of-amn.html OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: austinenglish(a)gmail.com Similar to bug 6082, and others, but the ones I could find are all marked fixed. Terminal output up until then is negligible: ALSA lib ../../../src/pcm/pcm.c:7234:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occured fixme:font:WineEngCreateFontInstance Untranslated charset 228 fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x148438,0x148880): stub Problem only occurs if 3d acceleration is enabled. Not an application bug, just tested it against Windows 7, where it goes full screen. Only upper left corner was filled. But this was magically fixed in todays/yesterdays git. Try again, maybe you will also have luck ;) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22511 --- Comment #2 from Wylda <wylda(a)volny.cz> 2010-04-28 14:58:57 --- Hmmm... It happens in all the following versions: * 0.9.57, 0.9.60, 1.0.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.5, 1.1.10, 1.1.15, 1.1.19, 1.1.25, 1.1.30..43, 1.1.43-347-gb939193 H-L used D3D, but Baldur's Gate 2 is using OpenGL. The commit which helped H-L is wine-1.1.43-73-g7c90c1a: commit 7c90c1a0b5f049ff6bbca657b52c1132f6b74f7c ddraw: Do not restore the display mode from inside SetCooperativeLevel. So (Henri?) i wonder if such thing is possible even for OpenGL? Austin, btw. promised screen shot got lost. ;) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Running it on software mode renders the game on full screen but there are LOTS of glitches and slowdowns, opengl mode works fine but it takes only part of the upper left corner of the screen. Tried resizing my desktop to match the game resolution but it didn't work, the desktop reverts to 1600x1200 when the game starts. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Setting a lower resolution is a no-go - as Wylda said the game switches desktop to a native one (1920x1200).
