The first few messages are from steam. As soon as i start DoW these lines appear: fixme:process:GetProcessWorkingSetSize (0xffffffff,0xb2e43c,0xb2e43 I use the following setup: - OpenSuse 11.0 - ATI Radeon X850 (Catalyst 9.3 driver, no newer one available for this card) - Latest version of Steam (API v009 and package version 61 / 1276) - Latest german version of Dawn of War on Steam (Engine 1.51) - Clear installation of Wine 1.2 rc4 - Corefonts installed via winetricks to get Steam to work This is what happens: - Installation of Steam and DoW without any problem - Start of DoW without any problem (except a white box around the cursor) - Sound works with wine 1.2 rc4. With rc3 it did not. - Start of a match without any problem - Some seconds the game runs good. As soon as i begin to create a building the game crashes. If i don't create a building the game runs fine for a while. I could not create a backtrace with the third method, but the first one worked for me. I made this two times on different maps and the result was in both cases the same. If i disable the use of GL Shading Language via regedit, the game runs perfectly. I had another problem with the game "Tales of Monkey Island", that was fixed in the same way. this bug stills exists on my computer with wine 1.3.10
Additionally today i made a test with the english demo version of dow and the bug occurs too. So its not only the german version. I changed the topic for this bug (removed german version)
After the mentioned change in the registry the bug is gone. I think it depends on my old ATI graphics card and/or driver. With Windows XP on the same system everything is fine.
Does an open source driver exist for ATI graphics cards, that supports 3d? Then i could test with this driver. Right now i use the offical driver from ATI and they released the last version for my card on march 2009 :)

According to what you say, this could be ATI specific. But there are still certain events, that always cause crashes. One is very good reproducable: - Start a skirmish with the Space Marines - Build Scouts - Select the Scouts and press Delete - The Scouts die and the game crashes There is also one more remarkable thing: This causes Crashes in Dow and Dow Winter Assault, but not in Dow Dark Crusade. I found out something more:
Until now i had disabled shadows in the Dow-Options. If i enable the shadows the game doesn't crash, when i kill a Scout. Maybe you can check this? Do you have shadows enabled or disabled? Do you have crashes if you disable shadows?
Just tried to reproduce the situation you mentioned, and it doesn't crash for me with shadows either disabled (none) or full.
