We are sorry for the inconvenience This error can be dismissed and does not seem to affect the functionality of the Office 2000 applications on a quick test. The AppDB suggests installing mfc42 via winetricks to to get around an error during install. Mfc42 does not work around this error. This error is actually present all the way back to Wine 1.3.9 (the last tested version in the AppDB). However, installation without mfc42 was not possible with Wine 1.3.9. All installations were completed with a clean Wine prefix. To got around this failure, you need to copy the dlls of the SYSTEM-folder from the installation-CD which are not part of wine into Windows/System32 and install MFC42. The installation than works with Wine 1.2. On second thought, please open a new bug for this. The first bug reported here by Caron is a crash caused by an unimplemented function in msvcirt (?cout@@3Vostream_withassign@@A). What you want is 'msvcirt' recipe. Before you install Office 2000, use the following winetricks recipe: 'winetricks -q mfc42 msvcirt' Alternatively 'winetricks -q vcrun6' which includes 'mfc42' and 'msvcirt' recipes.
