With winver as win2k, the .NET installer finishes fine, but the game's setup won't start. To elaborate: With default Wine (winxp) the installer starts, and starts the .NET 2.0 framework installation, which crashes, and the installer dies. Starting the installer again works fine (the crashed .NET 2.0 installer must have done enough). I can confirm the Net2.0 installation problems with this demo. It fails for me, exactly as it does for Luke when the windows version is set to XP.
And, like Luke, it seems to get far enough that when you run the installer a second time it will start at the step beyond .Net installation.
I tested this using the brand-new Wine 1.1.17.

By installing dotnet20 first, the installer works the first time (i.e. you don't need to run it twice) as well as working all subsequent times.
