According to most of the comments in the AppDB it worked before. What's strange is I'm able to play Command & Conquer 3 with all settings maxed out at 2560x1600 (less the water effects and other gfx that cause rendering issues). It slows down painfully only after applying the game patch v1.037. Tested on Ubuntu 8.10 with wine 1.0.1 (the version included in Ubuntu) and with wine 1.1.12.
