[Bug 33481] New: Solidworks crashes on mouse action after 1 minute
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33481 Bug #: 33481 Summary: Solidworks crashes on mouse action after 1 minute Product: Wine Version: 1.5.29 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: denis.bonnenfant(a)diderot.org Classification: Unclassified The application is working quite well during the first minute after launch. Then it crashes on the first mouse or keyboard action. If the application window is left alone, with no mouse over it, it doesn't crashes. It crashes instantly when mouse is put over, or if window is focused via wm shortcut. There are nothing useful in logs, but the application is generating its own coredump, but I don't know how to analyse it. this bug was previously related to bug 32978 This regression appeared approximately in 1.5.24, but regression didn't show anything. So the issue is probably triggered by some changes in ubuntu's compiz, or nivida's driver. Will try it on an intel-graphics based computer, running ubuntu 12.04 to see if the issue is related to ubuntu upgrade. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33481 --- Comment #1 from denis bonnenfant <denis.bonnenfant(a)diderot.org> 2013-04-28 13:53:35 CDT --- I tried it on an ubuntu 12.04 intel graphics machine, and the behavior is similar. So the problem is a regression in Wine. I will run new regression tests. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33481 --- Comment #2 from denis bonnenfant <denis.bonnenfant(a)diderot.org> --- The bug is still present in 1.7.17. It is completely independant from graphics hardware and windows manager. I can reproduce in on debian, ubuntu, with intel or nvidia ( no ati hardware to test). The crash occurs after approximately one minute, when focus is put back an forth to the 3D graphics area. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to compile an old enough wine version on my desktop computer (problems with 32/64bits libs). But I'm totally sure that it used to work before 1.5.24 ( I used this setup for professionnal 3D modelling work !). Is there precompiled packages of such an old version that I can test on ubuntu 13.10 64bits ? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ... the application is generating its own coredump, but I don't know how to analyse it.
If it's a .dmp or .mdmp file, you can pass its path to winedbg and it may produce a backtrace. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33481 --- Comment #5 from Ken Thomases <ken(a)codeweavers.com> --- If you can install debug symbols for Wine, or build it yourself, then get it to crash again and dump the backtrace, that would probably be better. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
