Does that mean that you used an iso image to install/play the game?
Maybe that makes the difference(?). Or the french version just differs
slightly.

It doesn't work here as well(german version).

I had already looked into the problem some time ago and I think I know what the
problem is. Just never found the time to verify and fix it. Hopefully I have
the notes still somewhere. *goes looking*
