I had no such problems with every version of Wine I tested, on 2 PCs tested, one with Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit, and one with Ubuntu 10.10 32 bit. Both are fresh installs without any winetricks. And both with default Pulseaudio and ALSA settings worked fine. Further, TimezAttack 3.0 has been superceded by 4.xx, and 3.0 is no longer available. To see which files need removing, you could try running the app with WINEDEBUG=+file and then grepping the log for ttf or /usr/share/font.
