The terminal output is in the attachment wine_civ4_bug.txt. Line 26 of the attached file reads: wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x1a3bad3d at address 0x697335 (thread 0009), starting debugger... Used to run civ4 with no problems under kubuntu 9.04. Then I upgraded to kubuntu 10.04, and again the game run with no problems. When I installed the binary from the repository, Civ4 (no expansion) and Warlords expansion worked straight away.
