Unfortunately, when this lock is performed under Wine it does not get released after you move away from the barrier. I do see the usual mouse bug #6971, but I don't see anything unusual when going towards the barrier. I tried walking towards regular walls and barriers that can be climbed. What exactly is needed to reproduce? The mouse get stuck when pointer moves to border of screen, you have to open main menu to center pointer, and then you can rotate view in game again.The bug is that you can't rotate the view in game more then 360.
This is exactly what bug#6971 is about, it is a major bug that affects tons of games in Wine including Thief 3. If I remember correctly, the easiest way to reproduce this bug is to walk up to a wall and use the "hide against the wall" key to cause garret to suck himself against the wall. Well I tried it and can't see any difference. The mouse is broken all the time limiting the rotation to a little more than 180 degrees. Attaching / detaching to/from the wall doesn't seem to make any obvious difference on this. If there is something, it must have a minor effect.
