I got the same crash as that guy. The following workaround makes the game start and run nicely: Put following in the registry: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{56FDF344-FD6D-11d0-958A-006097C9A090}] @="Task Bar Communication" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{56FDF344-FD6D-11d0-958A-006097C9A090}\InProcServer32] @="C:\\Windows\\System32\\SHDOCVW.DLL" "ThreadingModel"="Apartment" Then run with native shdocvw (and shlwapi). Thanks for the quick reply. I removed the Wine that I had installed and installed from source with git. I tried to apply the patch according to the link posted above and got the following error message. ######################################### ~/wine$ patch -pl < task.txt patch: **** strip count l is not a number ######################################### I have tried the command with no switches and tried reading the --help command but do not know enough to actually know what exactly it is I am trying to do. I have written some script files before but I am not exactly a programmer so please forgive me for all of the questions.
