Runes of Magic (once you do winetricks ie6 to get past bug 23703,
and apply the patch or do winetricks vcrun2005 to get past bug 23217),
the game lets you try to log in.  When you enter username and
password, it tells you it failed, and the console shows
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl SIO_GET_EXTENSION_FUNCTION_POINTER: unimplemented
ConnectEx
The patch from bug 17699 seems to get it a bit further - it says
"Obtaining Server List...".

(The login doesn't go any further on my machine, not sure why.  tcpdump
shows a connection is established to rom-eneu-srv.runewaker.com.)

(On my Ubuntu machine, which has freer firewall settings,
I get "Invalid account or password".

describes a possible workaround, but it didn't seem to help me.)
