When trying to start a new game in AoE II, I am always met with a crash related
to this function. However, it seems most other people do not get this problem,
so it might just be my machine.

CPU: AthlonXP 2800+
GPU: GeForce 6600 GT (256Mb)
Kernel: 2.6.21-gentoo-r1
