http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 --- Comment #1 from Maxym Kit <kitmaxter(a)gmail.com> 2009-05-23 10:04:18 --- I also tried to run this game on WinXP on VirtualBox 2.2.2 with wine installed as DirectX renderer - game runs but very slowly (approx. 1-2 fps). As I understand right, it's because of VBox's OpenGL Chromium driver which emulates only OpenGL 1.5. My configuration is: AMD Athlon64 X2 5000 (2.6 GHz), 4GB RAM nVidia 8300 GS (512 MB RAM) nVidia binary driver (180.51) kernel - 2.6.27.21-170.2.56.fc10.x86_64 Fedora 10 x86_64 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Perhaps it doesn't like a return value of some call or so. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 --- Comment #5 from Austin English <austinenglish(a)gmail.com> 2010-03-11 17:21:25 --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 8 months. Is this still an issue in current (1.1.40 or newer) wine? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 --- Comment #6 from Maxym Kit <kitmaxter(a)gmail.com> 2010-03-12 03:55:00 --- This is still an issue on wine-1.1.39 and wine-1.1.40. I used clean ~/.wine with VideoMemorySize set to 512. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 --- Comment #7 from GyB <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> 2010-09-18 07:07:29 CDT --- Created an attachment (id=30840) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=30840) Soldiers: Heroes of WoW II +d3d,+d3d8 log I found this bug using the search function of Bugzilla and I'm quite sure another game is affected by this bug: Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. Silent Heroes is essentially a standalone expansion of Soldiers: Heroes of WoW II, and looking into the +d3d logs the similarities are prominent. Soldiers: Heroes of WoW II shows a splash screen on startup then an error message is shown: 'Program will be terminated'. Adjusting the amount of the video memory in Wine's registry doesn't help. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 --- Comment #11 from Maxym Kit <kitmaxter(a)gmail.com> 2011-04-20 04:32:21 CDT --- After doing some investigations it looks like this is not a bug with video memory size. To start the game I'm using NoCD patch as game uses StarForce copy protection system and does not working with wine (I have original CD's but can't play the game). After looking into hex-dumps of NoCD patch and original executable I discovered that the message "Program will be terminated" appears only in NoCD patch. After this I tried to analyze disassembly of NoCD patch and found some kind of anti-debug check (looks like some kind of 8 technique, described in http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/windows-anti-debug-reference), but I have only a little knowledge in doing assembly analysis. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 --- Comment #12 from Maxym Kit <kitmaxter(a)gmail.com> 2011-06-21 18:22:15 CDT --- Created an attachment (id=35228) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=35228) internal game error I bought an English copy of this game (I have a Russian license too, but it needs NoCD patch because of StarForce copy protection, which does not work). After building wine-1.3.6 from sources with patch from bug #6955 applied game the game starts and even allows to create new or select existing player profile (without that patch game errors out with 'Program will be terminated.' error message). But then game errors out with error message from attachment. If I start the game with WINEDEBUG=+relay game starts normally, but is not playable because of very low frame rate (after redirecting the output to /dev/null ~15 fps). This file itself is packed in game.pak (ZIP-archive) and it's content is {font {name "arial"} {size 12} {height 19} {style 0} {binary_data "arial_12.fbin"} } I don't know what debugging channels to specify to try narrowing the problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18590 Maxym Kit <kitmaxter(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED --- Comment #13 from Maxym Kit <kitmaxter(a)gmail.com> 2011-07-10 13:36:39 CDT --- There is no more internal game error in english version of game (from Paradox Interactive) and game does not need wine to be patched with patch from bug #6955 with wine-1.3.24. Russian version of game needs some work to be done in order the message "Program will be terminated" to disappear at game start. The game under wine-1.2.24 is fully playable. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
