See the attached screenshot. Strangely enough, when switching from VirtualDub to another window the preview appears, but as soon as the VirtualDub window is active again, the preview becomes empty. Could you test with more recent wine?
Still occurs on wine-2.18 (not staging). Switching CSMT on and off (via regedit) follows the behavior I described. This happens using VirtualDub's default settings (Use DirectX for display panes checked). Unchecking this option is a workaround (presumably this way VirtualDub uses something else for rendering which isn't affected). Thanks for testing, updating status and moving to the Wine product.
