'winetricks ie7' is a workaround to the crash and I was able to log in, download and install the latest updates to the game. The game itself won't start, likely because it uses HackShield protection mechanism. I believe the failing component is shlwapi, because using the native version works around the crash (and setting it to built-in re-introduces the crash). I downloaded the game client and could reproduce the problem: the launcher crashed when I logged in.
