This segmentation fault applies not only when the player uses the elder sign to save the game, but as well everytime the game tries to "load" something, be it the "Load Game" option on the main menu, the "Continue" option on the main menu, or even the auto-load between in-game cutscenes and chapters. My machine is a Intel core 2 duo E6320 plus nVidia 8600 GT running under GNU/Linux Ubuntu with the latest drivers for the video card(version 169.12). I've attached the log report. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17202 --- Comment #4 from Paul Dirac <john015(a)libero.it> 2009-04-18 05:19:23 --- Hi Marco, I think that this crash could be linked to the "flashing white" that appears in the loading / saving / continue screen. If I play CoC in a simulated desktop, this white effect involves the whole screen, even outside the game window... do you notice the same thing? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17202 --- Comment #5 from Marco Túlio <monolitonegro(a)gmail.com> 2009-05-01 19:54:45 --- Yes, i've noticed the exact same bug once. I was going to acess the elder sign(save point) when the game crashed, leaving the screen bright white. I guess this happens due to the way the game engine was implemented: I suppose whenever someone acess the elder sign(or the eye), the game call a loading function twice. First time to load the list of savegames, so the player could choose what slot to save in, the second time to return back to the game. If the first "load" crashes, the result probably is the white screen we both have seen. If the second "load" crashes, the result is a 'clean' crash, no side effects on the desktop. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Since 1.1.25 this bug no longer appears: I've opened the save screen several times and nothing strange happened.
