The failures started as soon as this test was introduced in the commit below. It seems like some bug or quirk to me, especially since the error code is unknown. What's more shocking is that the storage event tests work after this, and after it's been aborted, and from the trace it seems they're for the IE9 mode tests, which also require a non-empty document to specify the IE9 mode.
