All versions prior to 1.3.28 work (I re-tested a few of these versions today), and all version from and including 1.3.28 do not work (1.3.31 is not available in Gentoo yet, so I couldn't test). If so, can you reproduce the problem with the demo: http://www.gamefront.com/files/10526/GTA_2_Demo GTA2 v9.6 crashes here with Wine-1.3.30 (showing the same backtrace than yours), but starts fine with Wine-1.3.31...1.3.37. There is a crash on exit though. GTA2 v9.6 crashes here with Wine-1.3.30 (showing the same backtrace than yours), but starts fine with Wine-1.3.31...1.3.37.
