[Bug 18713] New: D3D does not cope with limited GL cards
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18713 Summary: D3D does not cope with limited GL cards Product: Wine Version: 1.1.22 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: jengelh(a)medozas.de Trying to play GTA2 in Wine 1.1.22 gives a black screen, but everything else (well, sound) works. Additionally, wine throws this error: fixme:d3d:set_tex_op_nvrc >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_ENUM (0x500) from set_tex_op_nvrc() I am using nvidiagfx-legacy96.43. Switching to the free 'nv' driver with Mesa as a GL library does display the GTA2 game screen - albeit slow, as expected from Mesa. The card I am using is a Geforce2MX 400 ("NV11"). The lack of potential features should be worked around, I would say. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

How does Windows deal with limited GL cards? If Windows has problems too, then Wine is doing as it ought to. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

It used to work fine. If it does not anymore it's a regression. GTA2 does not depend on very advanced functionality. It even worked in Wine with an 8MB Savage card. The Intel drivers had specific bugs which prevented the game from working, but these are solved in recent versions of the driver. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
