The wine desktop kills afterwards. You need to install mfc42. Use winetricks mfc40 to install it.
I downloaded it from DLLdump and installed it in the Windows/System32 directory. Now the game asks me to put the CD in the drive. When I put the virtual image I have in AcetoneISO (which I have used to install the game), it does not recognize it. Technically, the version I have is natively not supposed to ask for the discs.
