[Bug 57798] New: Turtle WoW client can alt-tab back to desktop once only, next time display is black
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57798 Bug ID: 57798 Summary: Turtle WoW client can alt-tab back to desktop once only, next time display is black Product: Wine Version: 10.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: wine_bugzilla(a)sctb.ch Distribution: --- Morning, Gents. I run the TurtleWoW World of Warcraft client, which is the original WoW client from Blizzard, but with substantial modifications made by the TWoW devs. I updated Wine to 10.0. Prior to this, I could alt-tab without problems back to desktop (XFCE on Debian) quite a few times, maybe ten or so, but in the end environmental textures would all turn black and I would need to quit and restart the client. As of 10.0, I can alt-tab *once* without problem. The second time I alt-tab, when I come back to the WoW client, its screen is simply black. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57798 --- Comment #1 from wine_bugzilla(a)sctb.ch --- I'm afraid I do not know the previous version of Wine, but I use the winehq repo, like so; Types: deb URIs: https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/debian Suites: bookworm Components: main Architectures: amd64 i386 Signed-By: /etc/apt/keyrings/winehq-archive.key And I upgraded maybe a week or two ago; I'm pretty up to date, so I will have prior to 10.0 a recent version. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57798 --- Comment #4 from Cheah Kok Cheong <thrust73(a)gmail.com> --- I have a similar problem with another app using wine 10.0 stable It's a Vulkan demo app and can be downloaded from https://www.geeks3d.com/dl/show/50110 Steps to reproduce problem: 1. Run the demo's exe file, the demo will start in windowed mode [maximised]. 2. Unmaximise the window. 3. Minimise the demo window to show desktop [I do this by clicking the "minimise all open windows and show the desktop" icon on the XFCE panel taskbar] 4. Bring back the demo window [I do this by clicking the same icon again] 5. The demo window will turn black randomly between one to five minimise window action. Interesting observations: 1. If the window's size is maximised [app starts maximised], it can be minimised to desktop many many times before hitting the same problem. 2. While bringing back a minimised window, the demo window shows "black" momentarily before display is shown. I'm using Xubuntu 22.04 with XFCE 4.16.3 and Nvidia driver 550.120 Link to article about the demo: https://www.geeks3d.com/20210219/vulkan-ray-tracing-tested-on-geforce-rtx-20... -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
