I have now wine 0.9.55 (0.9.56 is not on the ubuntu repos yet). Proteus Installs with lots of wineerrorlogs, but installs. (Only with all builtin dlls) Running Proteus also seems to work very well, except for some key things which makes it Garbage. In Isis: Componnets Names and values and other character related stuff are not shown in the drwaing area. The "Pick Component" dialog is crazy. It opens Ares for any clic or slidebar movement, and some times it opens ares multiple times. Moving the slidebar makes it go down and up automatically without stop in the wantted place. It is very very hard to pick a component, it tooks me 5 minutes to get a Resistense. Is not usable with the last problem. I dont know about all other features or how 0.9.56 works with it. but it could be Gold with a few fixes. Nice. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Try to install windows fonts as in http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9846&iTestingId... With Proteus 7.2, this bug is out. I do not know if install fonts is needed with 7.2 release.

It is a bug but it is usable with the keyboard.

I think so. Resolving this bug should be very nice. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I dont know the definitions of "installing fonts" ir is just copying under windows/fonts, isnt it? I have firstly tryed to change the default font on ISIS Template->Set Design Defaults but it has not changed. The fonts are not displayed. So i have used wine-doors to install all easily available fonts, but nothing changes. I have then copied all windows xp fonts to wine and again nothing changes. Note: I have noted that in Windows XP the fonts dir is in Uppercase: "Fonts", and in wine is not: "fonts". Windows isnt case sensitive, so i think it shouldn't be a problem.

Yep, it is easier, but Ares continues showing up on action, with mouse or keyboard and "Pick Component" looses the focus. Terrible annoying. In Proteus 7.2 appDB entry the guy says this:
Managing tools bars do not work. Also doesn't work on Proteus6.7 with wine 0.9.55. But DOES work with some dlloverrides. Dont know exactly what dlls, i think that would be "common controls".
No printing preview. On Proteus6.7 with wine 0.9.55 printing preview does work fine, but dont know actual printing. Exporting to BMP in colors=mono, makes an image with darkred background which should be white and black lines, which should be black. It is hard to distinguish the
Some minor display defects (cursor, toolbars,...). Idem on proteus 6.7. But this is fixed using some dll overrides. I suppose that those would be "common controls".
New : Some display refresh problems. I have not seen this on proteus 6.7 with wine 0.9.55 yet.
Also, with some dll overrides the print dialog crashes, i dont know exactly what dlls makes that or if other programms crash too, but wine builtins doesnt. Perhaps, but Linux under wine is case sensitive, so I do not know the interactions.

I have also the problem. I remove easily red colour by Gimp. For the other items, I do not know. Confirmed here also! The wierd thing is that this bug is since one of the new versions. a month ago the part dialog was working fine. I tried downgrading wine to 0.9.59 and upgrading to 1.1.2, but no result. Maybe it should work in a more previous version in the repo. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11542 --- Comment #10 from Angel Angelov <dexterlb(a)yandex.ru> 2008-09-21 03:05:40 --- I've found the problem. In old versions, with the .wine folder from new versions, the bug is still there. But if I have an old version, and remove the .wine folder, so it creates it itself, proteus works. The problem: winelook should be "win31". In older version this can be set in the ~/.wine/config file. But in new versions everything is in the registry. My question: how to set winelook=win31 in wine 1.1.5? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

use winecfg?
I do not see a way to set winelook to win31 in winecfg. From winecfg I can only edit winver, not winelook (In reply to comment #12)
