I installed the Linux Picasa version, moved the Picasa files out and moved in the ones from the Windows Picasa. Also, the newest version of the Windows Picasa DOES work with the wine version included in the Linux Picasa (Picasa 3.0.0.57.4402.0_beta, Wine ?). I installed the Linux Picasa version, moved the Picasa files out and moved in the ones from the Windows Picasa.

I'd suggest looking at the mshtml/shdocvw patches.
