It's entirely possible that my video card doesn't support whatever it's looking for, as it's a Radeon 7500 Mobility. However, in talking with Tom Wickline, he made mention that Point Sprites are known not to work currently (or, at least that test), and that (at least on NVidia hardware), you must set the resolution to 800x600 or 1152x864, not 1024x768, as well as setting the Z-buffer depth to 24 (or 16) bit, rather than the default 32-bit, or you will get crashes at certain points. After making the above changes, I can complete all tests except the Point Sprites test successfully on a Geforce 5950. I don't have access to that particular video card right now, so I can't confirm if that is still necessary or not.
