It doesn't make sense to apply the patch because VALGRIND_SET_BOGEY() was never included in valgrind. The only reference I could find was http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.debugging.valgrind.devel/1644, but it seems like the patch was never applied (@Austin: correct me if I am wrong ^^).
