I really have no idea WHAT is causing it. All I know is that when I run any of the installs/updates through Wine, after a certain point, my laptop simply shuts off with no warning. It's entirely possible that it simply needs to be cleaned, and will pursue that avenue when I can. Maybe your system is overheating. In any case, it's not a wine bug; this isn't the right forum to discuss it. The operating system is supposed to be bulletproof.
