I copied the game from Windows to Linux (kubuntu 12.04) in the section from Origin grabbed launched through WINE. When the game starts Simcity information window shows the error. This game has been downloaded Origin in Windows (as through WINE download does not in progress) and there it worked. I copied the game from Windows to Linux (kubuntu 12.04) in the section from Origin grabbed launched through WINE.
That's a thing, such configuration is not supported, cause the game has to be installed properly in wine. There could be exceptions of course that work fine when copied, but in general you can't make such assumptions. This means you have "Origin In Game" enabled, which causes SimCity 2013 to crash shortly after starting it. Workaround: In the Origin window go to "Origin - Application Settings - Origin In Game" and untick "Enable Origin In Game". (In the past it was recommended to remove IGO32.dll instead. But this doesn't work anymore.) Please reply whether this works for you. Please note that unfortunately since today the fix to download SimCity doesn't work anymore (Bug 31438 - [EA Origin]Unable to download game since the new version). I hope this will be solved soon again. Probably this bug is a duplicate of bug 36863 reported for Origin/Mass Effect 3 (https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36863).
