To download the reMarkable desktop application, one must have an active account on my.remarkable.com. The account must be activated by entering a code on a reMarkable device. I've created an account but I don't have a reMarkable device to enter a code on so can't download or test the application. The application still works fine for me under Wine, but from the stacktrace it is the installer that crashes. It is a standard Qt Installation Framework installer, and it also works just fine under Wine here. There is however a bug in QIF that requires it to be launched from the C: drive under Windows, and from the stacktrace it seems like you have it on Z:. So, try to move it to ~/.wine/drive_c somewhere. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46455 --- Comment #8 from Martin Sandsmark <sandsmark(a)samfundet.no> --- Oh, I didn't read the stacktrace properly, didn't see the «Unhandled exception: unimplemented function UxTheme.dll.SetWindowThemeAttribute called in 32-bit code (0x7bc513e9).» FWIW, you can probably dig out the installer URL from the js code of my.remarkable.com, the only reason it's not displayed without a device connected to the account is because it is useless without it (so to avoid confusing customers). Please, can someone affected provide the requested information and perform a regression test?
→ NEEDINFO
This is kinda tricky, since by using the code one could have access to the specific reMarkable device data (?). Since I already have an ongoing discussion with reMarkable about this, I took the liberty to ask them if they can provide this code for debugging purposes. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. No. The requested information I'm talking about are the answers to 1) and 3) from comment #3. My other paragraph was in answer to 2). (In reply to Martin Sandsmark from comment #8)
But to spare you the wasted time of digging through minified JS:
Is this your copy of the installer or the actual download link from the remarkable website? (for copyright concerns). (In reply to Martin Sandsmark from comment #9)
... sorry for the spam, but I see that you're on an older version of Wine, it works here with wine 4.2.
Sounds like the regression was fixed eventually. It may still be a setup specific issue, though. Can the OP and other affected persons retest with wine 4.2 and confirm whether the issue is fixed for them or not? If not please provide full terminal output. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
