http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27872 Summary: Beyond Good and Evil: launcher doesn't allow to change resolution in fullscreen mode Product: Wine Version: 1.3.25 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.fileplanet.com/131434/130000/fileinfo/Beyon d-Good-and-Evil-Demo-%5BUS%5D OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69(a)gmail.com Created an attachment (id=35657) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=35657) terminal output When the launcher for the game is invoked in Wine's fullscreen mode I'm getting a wide range of screen resolutions (from 640x480 up to 1440x900) and available refresh rates 50 Hz and 51 Hz. However, choosing any resolutions other than the default resulting the following message: 'Resolution not available with the selected refresh rate' If I start the launcher in virtual desktop mode I'm getting fewer choices of resolutions and only refresh rate 60 Hz is available. I can choose any of the available resolutions and the launcher accepts the selection. The same problem with Wine-1.0.1, 1.2.3, ... Native devenum and dxdiagn dlls don't help. Steps to reproduce the problem in the demo: 1) After installation start SettingsApplication.exe in Wine's fullscreen mode. 2) Try to change the screen resolution to a different one...it fails Fedora 15 Nvidia GeForce 250 / driver 275.21 Gnome 3 X Server 1.10.3 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Sounds like you have DynamicTwinView enabled. Does disabling it help?
Indeed, it helped. After adding the option "DynamicTwinView" "False" to /etc/xorg.conf the launcher accepted all selected resolutions in fullscreen mode. I overlooked that Nvidia driver option although it helped to resolve bug #23399, too. The downside of disabling Dynamic Twinview is that screen resolution cannot be changed through the Nvidia Control Panel. Let's mark this INVALID then... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
