If you try to skip the intro, it works until you try to play another video, at which point the game locks up. This issue appears to have been present in both reports on AppDB, dating from 2008 to 2011. I tried using winetricks to install avifil32.dll, which failed, so I grabbed the DLL out of the exe it downloads manually and installed it myself, to no avail. If I trace all, I find a bunch of MCI spam around when it hangs up, so that might be the faulty component. I've attached a truncated log, since it just repeats that spam until I force quit. The demo appears to be broken in a completely different way, unfortunately. This commit also fixed bug #36514. I tested with the GOG.com version. According to my testing, this bug is fixed already in wine-11.0-rc1 by a8fb8d484e469691e372cc1198f4631eb059723a. This commit also fixed bug #36514.
