[Bug 21806] New: Star Wars Empire at War: Demo crashes during battles
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21806 Summary: Star Wars Empire at War: Demo crashes during battles Product: Wine Version: 1.1.39 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: gaming4jc2(a)yahoo.com Created an attachment (id=26385) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=26385) Tutorial 1 debugs, pagefaults, backtraces... This seems to affect the game any time you are going into battle. At the loading screen the game will issue a exception. You have two choices, retry or cancel. I've provided a backtrace log that results from each selection - as well as the game's built debugger log. For anyone wishing to confirm, just try Tutorial 1. It will crash in under 2mins. The other tutorials may crash too, but not nearly as often since there's not many battles to load. I was using the Demo CD I got in a promo. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21806 GyB <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |gyebro69(a)gmail.com --- Comment #1 from GyB <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> 2010-03-20 07:17:48 --- I could only reproduce the problem when no native d3dx9_36.dll was placed into the game's directory (at least the demo needs it). Without it the mentioned dialogue comes up letting you press either Retry or Cancel. Pressing Retry always generates an exception that clearly shows some unimplemented functions in the built-in d3dx9_36.dll. If the missing native dll caused the problem to the bug reporter, I don't quite understand how he could get into the game at all? Anyway, after placing d3dx9_36.dll into the game's directory the game started up correctly and was very stable for me both in fullscreen and virtual desktop mode. No other changes were made in wine's configuration. The sound stutters, the menus are too small and barely readable, and the game is too slow. Did you guys used overrides (eg. d3dx9) prior to testing this? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
