[Bug 55697] New: Debian packaging: please upgrade libodbc recommends
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55697 Bug ID: 55697 Summary: Debian packaging: please upgrade libodbc recommends Product: Wine Version: 8.17 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: odbc Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: cyril.adrian+winehq(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Hello, Currently, the "wine-staging-amd64" package recommends libodbc1 (exact version 2.3.11-2 on my system). Debian unstable now wants to upgrade to libodbc2 (2.3.12-1), which I cannot do because of this dependency. I know, I could force the thing but not sure how Wine would behave, don't want to try because I need Wine to keep running. Please, if it is only a matter of dependency resolution, change the Recommends to libodbc1 | libodbc2 Ditto for wine-staging-i386 Thanks, Best regards, -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. (at least it is in stable/bookworm, bullseye does not have a libodbc2 package) As such it "should" be safe to force the dependency for now, or to remove both packages if you don't need them -- it is an optional component and the wine packages only "recommend" it. But yeah, apparently there is some change the maintainer will have to make. I did look around the site a bit but I don't quite know how the packages get built, heh. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
