[Bug 22774] New: DirectX installer very slow on wine

This matters because it's invoked by many game installers, and before first run of some games (e.g. CODMW2) on Steam. The load average while it's running is close to zero. Still slow. It looks like it's sleeping 5 seconds between checking the GAC to see if something has shown up there yet. IMHO, adding five minutes to just about every game installer is more than minor, since it slows down development in general.
