This bug occurs only in the new-style WOW64 mode; it does not occur when using
a pure 32-bit prefix or the old-style shared WOW64 prefix.

Using git-master, I noticed that several games either have no audio at all or
crash immediately on startup.
In the winecfg Audio tab everything looks the same as before the regression,
and the test button still emits sound.
This line from the terminal output caught my attention:
0024:err:mmdevapi:init_driver No driver from L"pulse,alsa,oss,coreaudio" could
be initialized. Maybe check dependencies with WINEDEBUG=warn+module.

The regression test identified commit f1800451 as the first bad commit;
however, reverting it alone does not fix the issue. I also had to revert
commits a429176c and 7221d456 to resolve the problem.

This issue is reproducible in Kyodai Mahjongg v21.42. The game offers music
files in various formats (.ogg, .mid, .mod), but none of them work. Selecting a
.mod file from the Music menu results in an 'access violation' error window,
though the game continues to run.
