The game will crash even if you start it from the autorun program on the disc. I think this problem is a regression in Wine. There are Wine 5.X versions were the game seems to work. You can get the demo from https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=7246 sha256sum 12fc816c75357ee267bb12e4478b5632b2c0628ede70c240a3b3248dc5d29cac heritageofkingsdemo_1.04.exe Reverting some of the changes from the patch that causes this regression makes the game run again on newer Wine version.
