There is no issue with WINEDEBUG=+relay being slow. It's a debugging option, not intended for normal operation. WINEDEBUG=+relay modifies the behavior of Wine regarding certain internal functions. Sometimes this hides the issue and we have to find another way to debug. But first things first: You were asked to perform a regression test in comment 2. Please, do. I tested a steam one, it worked just fine for me. This game works fine under Ubuntu 18.10 with any version of wine,so I reopen it.
This is irrelevant. Pirated software is unsupported here.
