SYS_modify_ldt should be defined by your system headers.  For me, it's in
/usr/include/bits/syscall.h.

bash-3.00$ grep SYS_modify_ldt /usr/include/bits/*.h
/usr/include/bits/syscall.h:#define SYS_modify_ldt __NR_modify_ldt

Perhaps your distro has a bug, or it's not for x86?
