http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36983 Bug ID: 36983 Summary: Regression: Oblivion crashes on 1.7.23 but runs fine with 1.7.22 Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: pete(a)marchingcubes.com When running Oblivion through Steam (using playonLinux, wine 1.7.23) the 'launcher' app runs OK but when the 'Play' menu selection is activated, the game does not start and immediately crashes. Switching back to wine 1.7.22 results in the game launching and running flawlessly. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Regression test? http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting Note that PlayOnLinux is not supported, you should test using plain/vanilla wine (compile from source, if needed). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36983 --- Comment #2 from Rosanne DiMesio <dimesio(a)earthlink.net> --- Oblivion works fine for me in plain Wine as long as winegstreamer is disabled (bug 30557). I just retested in 1.7.36, but earlier versions worked too. There's not much here to go on, but from the description of the symptoms, I don't think this is the winegstreamer issue. That doesn't cause a crash--the game just hangs at the main menu. More likely it's a POL issue. Please retest in plain 1.7.36 or later, and if this is still an issue in plain Wine, provide regression test results. Otherwise this bug risks being closed as invalid. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36983 --- Comment #3 from Pete Black <pete(a)marchingcubes.com> --- It is working again for me in subsequent wine versions on PoL, but I didn't bother to report that because PoL is not supported -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
