[Bug 39345] New: Ubisoft Uplay crash when Win version is set to Vista and > (libcef problem)
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39345 Bug ID: 39345 Summary: Ubisoft Uplay crash when Win version is set to Vista and > (libcef problem) Product: Wine Version: 1.7.51 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: berillions(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 52436 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=52436 UPlay Crash Hi, Since few Uplay's version, the application crash if i set Winecfg to WinVista or Superior. But fortunatly, there isn't problem when it's to WinXP. But why i create this bug report ? Because on the Wine-Staging bugzilla (https://bugs.wine-staging.com/show_bug.cgi?id=197), a Wine's user said me that the Cloud Save works with WinVista and actually, it's not possible to try and confirm his solution. A .dmp file is created when the application crash. See the attachment to see the file. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39345 --- Comment #2 from Berillions <berillions(a)gmail.com> --- Unfortunatly, the "WSAEnumNameSpaceProvidersW" stub is not the main cause for the crash as i suspected. I have this stub too in the +relay,+tid,+seh log when winecfg is set to WinXP. Anastasius Fotch, if you read this bug report, how you make to analyze a log file (+relay,+tid,+seh) to find correctly where come from the issue ? Once installed, Uplay crashes with Wine whatever the wine Windows version. Ubisoftgamelauncher.exe does not crash only when wine Windows version set to XP. Then you can use the Uplay interface normally, without to install secondary dll or use winetricks. I can work around it by navicating to the uplay installation directory and using an older libcef version: cd .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft\ Game\ Launcher cp libcef.dll.old libcef.dll if I do that I can launch ubisoft game launcher (even though it can't connect to any server and I can't activate my games, so still useless). I have to do that every time it starts cause it updates. If I don't do that I get the following message: The procedure entry point cef_get_web_plugin_info_byname could not be located in the dynamic link library libcef.dll This is also describe at the Ubisoft forums: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1081197-UPlay-PC-error-procedure-entry-... -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. The uplay UI is all kinds of broken and to log in i had to move the GUI to my first monitor (position->left in "Application Data/Ubisoft Game Launcher/settings.yml") for it to work. Only tested with Assassines Creed II which works now. Hope this helps someone -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Update from the last comment. I was using a Ubisoft version that came with Assassin's creed Black flag installation on Steam.
