I confirm this bug with wow 9.11 (tested with both 0.9.15 and 0.9.16) on my config :
Ubuntu 6.06 Wine compiled from source.
Nvidia 7300 with binary drivers from Nvidia.

Wow start if launched without -opengl but it is not playable then (too slow,
minimap issue, shadow around PC and NPC)
