Only the 64-bit version seems affected, 32-bit PDF-XChange Viewer runs fine with search. I believe this is a 32-bit product, running in Mint 17 Cinnamon 64-bit
Your wine version shows Wine build: wine-1.6.2. That's 2-3 years old and not supported software anymore. Looking at the bitness of the WINEPREFIX is not a reliable method. You need to look at the actual program binaries.
