Before filing bugs, you need to test in plain Wine. That said, I can reproduce this in plain Wine. However, in order to get around bug 18889 and start Access at all it is necessary to either manually extract the manifest from acedao.dll or edit msaccess.exe.manifest to remove the dependency on acedao.dll. That's obviously not the normal way to run the app, and this bug may be invalid because of it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25435 --- Comment #7 from dE <de.techno(a)gmail.com> 2010-12-07 10:05:54 CST --- The thing that playonlinux downloads is a static build of plane wine (or is it patched in some way?)... I've used that directly. BTW package managers can patch wine before compile, like what they do with OOo. I did that msaccess.exe.manifest workaround. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25435 --- Comment #9 from Rosanne DiMesio <dimesio(a)earthlink.net> 2010-12-07 10:57:30 CST --- Bug 18889 is not the cause of this bug; it is the reason you need a workaround to start Access in the first place. That is why this bug depends on it--you have to get past that bug to get to this one. As to whether the workaround could be what's causing the problem you reported, that I don't know, which is why I haven't actually marked this as invalid, but merely raised the question. Someone with greater knowledge than I needs to make that call. As for PlayOnLinux, while I understand they are trying to clean up their act, they have a history of using patched versions of Wine without letting the user know. Users of distro packages with unapproved patches are also told to retest in plain Wine. The best practice is to test in plain Wine compiled from current git, as that will also confirm that the problem hasn't already been fixed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Templates wouldn't import and wizards would be blank and frozen. I have wine 1.4.1 installed and winetricks. I added a manual override the oleauth32 dll in winecfg, and ran winetricks vb6run jet40.
