following Mikolaj's comment, I got the most recent version of wine 0.9.46 for
ubuntu and tried to install my full copy of Adobe Pro 6.0.

It failed.

Have to say it would be hugely fabulous if you can get this working, it's my
only barrier to moving all my work over from Windows.
