If you're using the NVIDIA proprietary driver version 185.x, then you need to upgrade. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22583 edward savage <epssyis(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |epssyis(a)gmail.com --- Comment #4 from edward savage <epssyis(a)gmail.com> 2010-05-04 22:13:28 --- Don't be so quick Andrew, I asked the users complaining of this problem to create a bug so we could identify where the problem lay. I totally disregarded it and haven't seen it myself but I've rejected several tests complaining of it and its been brought up on the forums and mailing list a couple of times. This seems to be a real problem. This is affecting Ubuntu 9.10/10.04 and SUSE users that I know of and only came about with the new Steam update. I'd like to rule out it isn't some Wine window creation conflict with X before telling these guys we're not interested. The bug can stay closed and invalid but if some one with the problem could attach some appropriate data to show that Wine is not at fault it would be handy. I would suggest we want the output of your x.org log from the crashed session, dmesg tail, and Wine run with X debug channels on. Please also test with nVidia drivers other than 185.x and report your results. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22583 --- Comment #5 from Vitaliy Margolen <vitaliy(a)kievinfo.com> 2010-05-04 22:33:12 --- (In reply to comment #4) The 185.x Nvidia drivers known to cause X-server crash. If that's what users have - they should be reporting all issues to distro, considering the 195.x drivers been out for a while. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22583 --- Comment #7 from edward savage <epssyis(a)gmail.com> 2010-05-05 04:38:49 --- Good, I can continue ignoring this complaint. :) I have added a warning to the Steam page for users with this issue to upgrade their drivers. Thanks William and Andrew. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
