While displaying the splash screen, a small window pops up with only "Fatal error!" in it. Tested with Wine 1.9.17 in a clean Windows 7, 64-bit prefix. Running the program produced different results, seemingly at random. There were 3 behaviors I witnessed, in this and the following 2 logs. Does the game have a 32 bit version? If yes can you test too to check if the problem is 64bit only?
It looks like the game uses directx 11 so it may still not be supported in wine for some time.
No 32-bit version. Apparently it uses about 8 gigs of RAM minimum. :P It does use DirectX 11. The fullscreen window appears, and after loading for a bit, the Obduction and Unreal logos are displayed.
