Please run a regression test:
Already doing so. Now I'm trying to determine which release is "first bad". For now, winhelp.exe.so from wine-1.0-rc1 works good when run with 0.9.54 (in terms of windows placement), and doesn't work correctly with 0.9.59.
Is this the program? http://www.amctools.com/download.htm Are you sure it's ok to attach their .hlp file to Wine's bugzilla?
Program is freeware, it's development is abandoned, but *now* I'm not sure. I'm not good in creating help files, can you make one with such pop-up? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Shadoura (I DO NOT USE COMPIZ) <bugzilla(a)tut.by> 2008-05-22 08:14:36 --- I got this again with wine-1.0rc1 (binary build from winehq). Don't know how to reproduce. Currently I have 3 programs running: Miranda IM, VMLAB, and WINE winhelp with VMLAB.HLP. When Miranda IM has 'Become idle if the computer is locked (2000/XP+ only)' option enabled, approximately every second or two I get fixme message: fixme:win:SwitchDesktop SwitchDesktop(hwnd 0xd8) stub! And while Miranda is running with such option, shadow is drawn above popup in winhelp. Don't understand yet how this can be, but at least we know what causes this effect. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Yes, it's still reproducible (1.1.13). I will try to prepare testcase or test environment for you to reproduce this. -- WBR, Andrew -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13177 jim <jimportal(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |jimportal(a)gmail.com --- Comment #15 from jim <jimportal(a)gmail.com> 2009-06-28 19:14:55 --- I tested with 1.1.24 and the shadow was rendered correctly (under instead of over) and I could read the text of the popup. I tested with this command line: wine winhlp32 VMLAB.HLP Fixed? note: The popup does not stay like it does on Windows XP. If you click the link it will only be visible while the mouse button is down and will disappear on mouse up. The desired behavior (or at least XP's behavior) is that the popup stays until either it is clicked or it loses focus. Separate bug I would assume. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Neither this helpfile nor the helpfile from KanjiGold works. No Miranda (or anythine else in wine) running here. It might just be an issue with my window-manager (wmii).
